about

This is a single track.

As Jonathan Richman said, "that summer feeling will haunt you the rest of your life." It's a good haunting. I still get giddy as summer approaches. I let myself be thrilled with the possibilities. This song expresses that anticipation, unabashedly, with no regrets.

lyrics

Is there something better than casting off our sweaters and rolling in the warm sand?
There's no need to question why, I see the ocean if your eyes, and I'm floating there inside.

Island, my haven, your hair is like summer.
Down there, where we will meet, it's summer.
Why would you say no, it's summer.
What were we waiting for?

Is there something better than rolling down the river and going with the current's plan?
There's no need to question why, I see the river in your eye, and I'm floating there inside.

Island, my haven...
What were we waiting for?
SUMMER! SUMMER! SUMMER! SUMMER!

This is how I'm going to feel.
Light the incense and the candles of summer.
If I could, I'd stop the wheel, when the dust creates cathedrals of sunlight.
Before the scorching begins.
Before the peaches fall.

Island, my haven, your hair is like summer.
Down there, where we will meet it's summer.
What were we waiting for?

Is there something better than rolling down the river and going with the current's plan?
There's no need to question why. I see the river in your eye, and I'm rolling there inside.
